Gualala Redwood Timber, LLC is seeking a Registered Professional Forester to be the Forest Manager of GRT’s 29,000 acre Gualala tract. The Forest Manager is responsible for all aspects of managing this working redwood forest. The new Forest Manager will also need to manage and develop a combination of staff and consultants to address the many issues to which forest managers in California must respond. It will be important that the Forest Manager have some specialized skills in the areas listed below to compliment the general management duties.

The Forest Manager will be responsible for:

• Timber harvest plan preparation

• Supervision of logging and other contractors

• Community relations

• Log accountability

• Road maintenance and upgrading

• Access database management

• Geographic information systems management

• Inventory maintenance

• Growth and yield modeling

• Reforestation

• Weed control

• Pre-commercial thinning

• Gravel mining – permitting, monitoring and annual plan preparation.

• Wildlife, fish and plant surveys

• Archeological surveys

A valid CA driver’s license is required, as is the ability to work in a forested environment, under all weather conditions, and on steep ground.
