Our client is an established and highly reputable wood products manufacturing supplying exquisite and top quality products to customers around the globe. They have a global supply chain that includes manufacturing and suppliers in Asia and North America and we are looking for a bilingual supply chain coordinator that will oversee procurement, logistics, inventory and production planning out of their headquarters in Vancouver. The role will directly report to their senior leadership team/ownership and have a great impact in their topline and bottom line. This is a very important role and a career permanent position in their company.
The candidate will have experience, knowledge or formal education in wood products processing familiar with quality, wood grading. The candidate is bilingual professionally proficient in English and Mandarin/Chinese. Functional experience in operations, purchasing, supply chain, inventory management, production planning, logistics and business administration are very relevant. A young Wood Science/Wood Products processing graduate with a few years of experience to a seasoned candidate from a wood products processing company/mills/lumber trading background will all be considered.

Responsibilities
Procurement of raw materials
Inventory control and cost control programs
Quality Control
Claims and product issues resolution process
Logistics management, import and export document management
Review operations and confer with technical and administrative staff to resolve production and processing issues
Review processing schedules and production orders to make decisions concerning inventory
Manage and coordinate production and processing activities of industrial organizations

Qualifications
Background and/or formal education in wood products processing/wood sciences
Experience or keen on having experience with purchasing, production planning, logistics and inventory management for products coming from mills/wood processing plants
Quality control and familiarity with wood grading, colour, characteristics
Supply chain, operations, procurement, logistics and inventor management experience and/or formal education is relevant
Willing and able to travel across North America and China.
Bilingual – fluent in English and Mandarin/Chinese
Excellent communication, interpersonal, coordination, organizational and customer service skills
Strong planning skills, proactive, creative yet practical problem solving skills
