You will supervise all shift operations and employees to maximize sawmill productivity and efficiency by ensuring optimum management of all resources.

  • Maintain a communications program to keep your team informed regarding mill and department priorities
  • Report to Sawmill Superintendent.

Operations

  • Supervise production operations so as to best use materials, labor and equipment to meet or exceed production targets and financial objectives (cost control and reduction).
  • Make required inspections and develop programs in conjunction with the Customer Service and Technical Department to ensure that product quality meets specifications.
  • Work with other supervisors at the site to achieve maximum operational performance and efficiency each shift.
  • Seek out, recommend and implement improvements to production processes, equipment performance, working conditions and product quality.
  • Review work orders and statistical reports (production, quality control, maintenance and downtime) to ensure sound planning.
  • Complete all shift administrative reports (e.g. production, timesheets, accidents, performance, training, employee turnover, and environment) in compliance with the labor agreement.

REQUIREMENTS:  What you bring to our workplace

  • Education: College degree or diploma in a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years in related field.
  • Supervision and communications skills.
  • Bilingualism: French and English an asset.
