JOB DESCRIPTION
:

Reporting to the Sawmill Superintendent, the position performs various supervisory responsibilities in a safe and time effective manner.   Key responsibilities will include leading a team to meet or exceed key performance indication (KPI) targets in safety, quality, cost, delivery and employee engagement.   Other responsibilities include:

  • Motivates, coaches and supports others within a team environment.
  • Champions safety by participation and addressing unsafe conditions.
  • Ensures the team follows all policies, procedures and WorkSafeBC regulations.
  • Identifies opportunities for improvement in areas of safety, quality and employee engagement.
  • Adapts to changing business conditions.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 2+ years Supervising within union environment
  • 2+ years Sawmill experience.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Possess good problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Proficient computer skills to include but not limited to MS Office and Windows applications.

Compensation

$70,000-85,000/Yr
