Canoe Forest Products Ltd. located near Salmon Arm, BC has an immediate fulltime vacancy for a Quality Control Supervisor to join our team. We are a forest harvesting and plywood manufacturing
company and are a proud component of the Gorman Bros. group of companies. Reporting to the Plywood Manager, the Quality Control Supervisor will be responsible for all aspects of Quality Control.

This position requires the following Core Competencies:

• A self-motivated individual with excellent organizational, communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to manage and oversee product quality to ensure compliance to codes, standards and regulations.
• Advance quality achievement and performance improvement throughout the plant.
• Lead, direct and coach the plywood supervisor team in all aspects of quality assurance and quality control.
• Aptitude to serve on industry and association committees as required
• Enhance production performance to improve operational efficiency.
• Maximize production capability through technology and best work practices for continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

• Proven understanding of quality and statistical process controls systems.
• Post-secondary education in Woods Product Manufacturing or Business Administration is preferred.
• Five (5) plus years’ experience in a related role in a wood products manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated skills and experience in continuous improvement processes.
• Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
