TTG Forestry Services, LLC (TTG FS), an affiliate of BTG Pactual Timberland Group (TIG) is seeking a Project Forester to be based in Jackson, OH, USA.

Overview

TTG FS, LLC provides technical support services to TIG and its clients, including harvest scheduling, management of firm-wide Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Forest Management Information Systems (FMIS), administration of TIG’s global timber inventory program, administration of related databases, maintenance of TTG FS’ cloud environment, and property management services.

Responsibilities of the position:

Reporting to the TTG FS Regional Manager and Area Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Planning, layout, and contract supervision for timber harvest operations, including harvest unit design, boundary delineation, environmental compliance, contracting, and contract administration.
  • Land management activities that include hunt license oversight, tract inspections, development and implementation of road layout projects.
  • Data management activities working with company systems to ensure data is up to date and accurate.
  • Tree planting oversight and planning.
  • Property budgets, forecasts, and management plans.
  • Support TTG business groups to ensure plans are followed to meet annual goals.
  • Lead new projects as they become available.

Mandatory qualifications (background and certifications)

  • The successful candidate will hold a bachelor’s degree in a forestry, natural resources or related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in the forestry field.
  • Highly effective analytical skills, and the ability to think strategically.
  • Must be able to work at all levels in an organization, have excellent relationship building skills, and be a team player.
  • Must be organized and able to manage multiple, diverse tasks at the same time to meet required deadlines; able to multi-task and work independently with limited support and supervision.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Knowledge of forest practices.
  • Current driver's license.

Desired profile (skills and competencies)

  • Experience with the software Trimble Forestry (aka Cengea or LRM/BRM) is desirable.
  • Microsoft Excel experience and expertise.
  • Proficiency in GPS, GIS and Microsoft Office products.
  • Dedicated, hardworking, and self-motivated; and willing and able to travel as necessary.
  • Ability to prioritize and work without direct oversight.
  • Excellent communication, entrepreneurial, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
