Job Purpose

Mill Planner will run Material Requirement Planning (MRP) at individual mill location and set the production schedule to meet the overall demand established by the Corporate Planner. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain, in conjunction with corporate data governance policies, the master data associated with the mill concerning BOM’s, Routings, Production Versions, and Material Masters.
  • Address and correct issues that arise during the confirmation process at the mill and verifying that the overall inventory levels are correct at the mill.
  • Enter new production orders and communicate scheduling information and anticipated delivery dates to sales, customers and internal departments.
  • Adjust production schedules to accommodate changes to customer orders and/or changes in production capacity.
  • Work with shipping to ensure appropriate delivery to customers.
  • Work with Production Superintendent to assure adequate production capacity and company resources to fulfill production orders.
  • Balance raw material receipts daily and perform raw material / finished goods inventory monthly.
  • Collaborate with Corporate Planner and Sales & Operations for Variance Management.
  • Collaborate with Corporate Planner on strategy execution and scheduling.
  • Maintain weekly to daily production planning and scheduling
  • Coordinate WIP and finished goods production
  • Responsible for planned order confirmation and reconciliation
  • Prepare detailed reports and maintain records and documentation according to guidelines in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and regulations.
  • Perform other duties as necessary.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of product line manufacturing processes.
  • Strong analytical skills; ability to apply basic math skills to calculate production requirements.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with sales, manufacturing, purchasing, and shipping to ensure customer order fulfillment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent PC skills.

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years manufacturing experience required; experience related to production planning, scheduling or materials preferred.

Or any equivalent combination of experience and training that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position.
