Procurement Forester Summary

Double Aught Lumber has an immediate opening for a Procurement Forester at our Candor, NY facility.

The individual will learn and become proficient at all aspects of locating, assessing, costing and negotiating the purchase and successful harvest of standing timber. The primary responsibility is to
supply logs to hardwood sawmills.

Procurement Forester Responsibilities:

- Network and research sources of standing timber
- Cruise and appraise standing timber for quantity, quality and value
- Work with logging contractors for the successful harvest of timber
- Use Best Management Practices, following contract obligations
- Administrative searching for forestry land
- Create maps and cruise plans
- Apply for various types of permits

Procurement Forester Qualifications:
- AS Degree in Forestry or similar degree required, BS in Forestry preferred
- Excellent communication and math skills
- Northern Hardwood tree ID and map reading skills
- Ability to work in a team atmosphere
- Ability to work a long, flexible schedule in a year-round outdoor environment
- Neat appearance and well organized
- Clean motor vehicle record
