Primary Purpose

Provides Process Control automation support for an integrated pulp and paper mill.  Mill consists of new Continuous digester (2016), bleach plant, Recaust, TMP, Recycle, Boilers, Turbines, three paper machines and a pulp dryer.  Primary automation equipment includes Fisher Provox, Fisher Delta V and Moore APACS integrated with Intellutions HMI.  OSI PI system is utilized as the historical process database.                                                                      

Duties And Responsibilities

  1. Support operations on troubleshooting process Control related problems    
  2. Modify control systems and HMI for process improvements                                                        
  3. Configure and utilize PI data for process troubleshooting                                
  4. Support maintenance E&I resolving process control related problems      
  5. Provide Process control support for capital projects                                       
  6. Lead Migration of process control equipment                                                                  

Knowledge and Experience

Associate or Bachelor degree a plus, with related experience in: Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Paper Science degree with strong, instrumentation measurement principles, final control element principles, thermo, fluids, DCS configuration, control system communications and/or continuous processes background with demonstrated technical skills. 

Computer skills such as DCS configuration, PLC knowledge, OSI PI, and communication protocol with specific knowledge of Provox, Delta V, and Moore APACS are a plus.

Three to five years of work experience in the pulp and paper industry or continuous process environment is preferred.  This job requires continuous process theory application, data analysis skills and good team building skills.
