Description: 

The Production Supervisor in Mississippi is responsible for supervising plywood manufacturing team members in a manufacturing and assembly environment. This position plans and assigns work, implements policies and procedures and recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions. This position manages all employees of the department and is responsible for the performance management of the employees within that department.

Responsibilities:

• Balance quality, productivity, cost, safety and morale to achieve required production results within the department.
• Ensure effective employee relations. Provide employee coaching and development. Resolve employee issues through problem resolution, consulting with Superintendent, Plant Manager and HR when necessary
• Manage department priorities and coordinate production requirements with other departments.
• Manage departmental performance measures, including visual controls and provides regular progress reports to manager.
• Must work rotating shift, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Perform accident investigations.
• Promote and drive safety improvement including promotion of injury-free/incident-free working environment.
• Provide leadership and direction to all department production team members, including training on proper equipment operation demonstration and work procedures.
• Read and analyze charts, work orders, or production schedules to determine production requirements.
• Track and manage department absenteeism and timekeeping.
• Understand and ensure adherence to all company policies, practices and procedures.
• Work to continuously improve in all areas, including implementation of Lean Manufacturing principles. 

Requirements:

• Required – High School Diploma, or equivalent job experience and high school combination.
• Required – Ability to use MS Office applications efficiently and the ability to learn other company-specific applications
• Desired – 2-3 years previous plywood Supervisory experience
• Desired – prior experience in woods products manufacturing
• Leadership experience
