Profile 

Our client is a leading pulp and paper trading company. Headquartered in Europe, we are looking for an entrepreneurial Packaging Paper Trader based in Mexico, ideally any major city with airport access (Mexico City preferred). This individual will be part of their Latin America team and will be traveling around Mexico to visit customers and build long-term relationships with them. This established company operates in Europe, Asia, South America, North America and North Africa. They trade different pulp grades as well as speciality papers and are known for developing remote markets. Reporting to the Director of Latin America in Germany, the successful candidate will be expected to find new business opportunities in the country while maintaining solid relationships with existing customers. This is a work from home opportunity for the right individual with experience from the pulp and paper trading industry.
 

Responsibilities 

  • Responsible for selling a range of different packaging paper and graphical board products, as well as daily sales activities to Mexican end users
  • Acquire, negotiate and close sales and purchase contracts
  • Service and maintain excellent working relationships with existing customers
  • Source, prospect and identify new customers and opportunities
  • Act as a resource between the European headquarters and the Mexican accounts to ensure customer feedback and market information is communicated effectively
 

Qualifications 

  • 1-2 years of experience in pulp and paper trading in Mexico
  • Sales mentality
  • Strong international business sales acumen, gained from experiences working with or selling to international organizations
  • A business or international trade degree, or equivalent professional experience
  • Strong negotiation, facilitation and influencing skills
  • Understanding and familiarity of international trade financing, purchasing and transportation
  • High level of initiative and entrepreneurial drive
  • Proficiency in Spanish and English
  • Willingness to travel
  • Creative and able to work autonomously
