This is an excellent opportunity for a person with strong business and leadership skills to join the team at Westerra Equipment as an Operations Manager. Reporting to the CEO this position oversees and works collaboratively to grow the operations of the Nanaimo and Victoria locations. This is a hands on position which will work closely to manage, advise and pitch in to support and grow our service, parts and rentals business on a day to day basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  •  Manage all aspects of business operations which includes service, parts and rentals.
  •  The teams are highly engaged, thus maintain this through effective management, communication, training, scheduling, and recognition.
  •  Customer focus is high in these locations, maintain this focus and continue to challenge the team on taking the customer experience to the next level.
  •  Proactively and enthusiastically engage customers in dialogue to understand needs, follow up on concerns and issues and to thank them for their business.
  •  Understand and effectively manage the budgeting process throughout the year in order to maintain and increase profitability in all departments.
  •  Drive team productivity to meet and or exceed monthly targets (revenue, absorption, etc.)
  •  Monitor (technical and other) training requirements of the teams and arrange the appropriate training.
  •  Promote and maintain a safe working environment, complying with all health and safety policies, procedures and legislation.
  •  Proactively seek opportunities to grow customer accounts in all areas of our business.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  •  Proven ability to build high performing teams
  •  Ability to meet and exceed customer expectations
  •  Highly motivated, self-starter, enthusiastic and well organized
  •  Strong business acumen and problem solving skills
  •  Previous experience and success in delivering results as a service manager and or operations manager
  •  Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  •  Competence in Microsoft Office programs including Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.
