Mechanical Maintenance Specialist (Maintenance & Trades)

Our client has an immediate opportunity for a Mechanical Maintenance Specialist to join their team.

Wage: $110k – $160k, Negotiable, depending on experience.
• Company vehicle, bonus package and relocation available.

Responsibilities:
• Responsible for supporting all operations with the required mechanical oversight
• Trouble shooting, leadership, technical understanding of equipment & maintenance practices
• Planning & scheduling maintenance functions and lead with mechanical support in order to provide solutions with technical challenges.
• Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with Plant Teams.
• Lead or assist with equipment installations, maintenance applications & plant facility upgrades
• Grow plant level knowledge and competency with mechanical systems & applications to support Owning Safety, including, reliability & optimization of production equipment
• Participate in planning meetings with contractors, consultants, plant personnel, and management to deliver projects on time.
• Ability to identify problems and Implement fixes in the event of an upset condition.
• Execute commissioning plan with new equipment installations and ability to work closely with the appropriate teams
• Participate in mechanical and new build design reviews.
• Maintain process maintenance systems; analyze issues and recommend solutions.
• Provide remote off-hour support during plant facility upset conditions

Qualifications:
• Experience with air systems and sawmills an asset.
• Completed Red seal trade certification or technologist degree/diploma
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in Forestry, mining manufacturing or a related industry
• Working knowledge of key mechanical systems, machine control systems, CMMS and their applications.
• Understanding of PLC’s components and there functionality to support mechanical systems.
• Competency with mechanical process systems, strong ability to evaluate functionality and reliability of facility systems and associated equipment.
• Ability to independently manage multiple projects in different phases, at multiple locations at the same time.
• Proven commitment to Owning Safety, both personally and working with others
• Effective independent thinker and a good understanding of operational process knowledge
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Very proficient with computer systems including CMMS applications
• Valid driver’s license with good driving record
