  • Lumber grading ticket
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written
  • Ability to learn quickly
  • Knowledge of optimization systems
  • Knowledge of electrical and wiring concepts
  • Successful candidates will have a Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Technology degree, with experience
  • Working proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks
  • Experience in the design, analysis and drafting of machinery is an asset
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Sawmill industry or material handling experience is an asset

  • Responsibilities

  • Ensure effective, professional customer demonstrations by maintaining the health, condition and operation of the optimization demonstration area, equipment, sensors, and related components.
  • Independently contacts, arranges and coordinates directly with the potential client all aspects of the system demonstration, inclusive of dates, times, lumber shipment, accommodations, etc…
  • Ensures the expectations of the customer, as to the nature of the demo, the desired results, and areas of interest or concern are clearly understood and documented in a test plan for the successful demonstration.
  • Ensures a successful demonstration by independently completing the required system set-up and pre-testing prior to the arrival of the customers.
  • Prepares required test results documents for each demonstration. Documents must be professional, accurate and detail the ROI and benefits of the optimization systems as proven out by the demonstration.
  • Actively take part in Alpha testing new products or upgrades to existing products. Works closely with engineering to determine issues with new releases and helps resolve those issues.
  • Complete conceptual and detailed design of assemblies and components for sawmill machinery
  • Perform engineering analysis or calculations as required for the design process
  • Liaisse with internal groups to produce technical mill layout drawings to facilitate the sales process
  • Review technical data, measurements and catalogue specifications, and translate this information into appropriate designs and products
  • Interact with internal groups to ensure designs and specifications meet the company's integrated needs
  • Interact with customers, vendors, project managers and peers to facilitate the sale, delivery and commissioning of projects
  • Occasional travel to customer sites is required
