MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR
HIGH LEVEL, AB

POSITION OVERVIEW:

As an integral part of the maintenance team, the Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for providing supervision of maintenance crews to obtain proper operating efficiencies and achieve quality and machine safety standards.

In conjunction with the other maintenance staff and under the direction of the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for supporting the planning and development of an effective plant maintenance program. This includes but is not limited to equipment configuration database, downtime analysis, repair and preventative work order development, allocation and scheduling of resources, ongoing follow-up and refinement of maintenance procedures.

 QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 3 to 5 years’ leadership experience within the forest sector;

  • Journeyman or Diploma or Technical Degree in a mechanical, electrical, or related field;

  • Working knowledge of safety program development, implementation, and safety legislation;

  • Knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems; preferably JD Edwards;

  • Able to lead diverse trades groups and create a highly effective Maintenance Team;

  • A strong ability in Analytical Troubleshooting and applying Failure Modes and Effects Analysis;

  • Strong work ethic, self-motivation and effective communication, organizational and time management skills;

  • Experience working in a unionized environment is an asset.
