Position Name: Logging Truck Driver

Position Duration: Permanent, Full-Time

Job Duties:

• Drive truck to transport goods.
• Loading and unloading of goods.
• Perform pre-trip inspection, oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes and other equipment.
• Perform brake adjustments and preventive maintenance.
• Monitor vehicle performance and mechanical fitness.
• Perform emergency roadside repairs.
• Ensure the goods are secured properly in accordance with safety requirements.
• Communicate with dispatcher and other drivers using communication devices.

Employment requirements:

• Education: None
• Valid driver's license Class 1 or Class A to drive long vehicles
• Language: Speak English, Read English, Write English
• Experience: At least 2 years work experience
• Mountain driving expertise
• Low bedding and hayrack experience an asset

Essential Skills:

• Problem solving, Critical thinking
• Documentation Knowledge: Driver logbook, Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post trip)
• Weight Handling: More than 45 kg (100 lbs.)

Compensation

Salary: $28.00/hr

$28.00 hourly for 40 hours per week

Overtime: 1.5 times regular pay rate (As per BC Standards)

Observed Holidays: As outlined on labour.gov.bc.ca – 10 holidays/yr
