FITNIR is seeking a candidate for the position of Instrumentation Intern. The Instrumentation Intern will be a part-time position and preferably a student currently enrolled in an Electrical and Instrumentation program or a recent graduate looking for experience. The Intern will assist our production group and Sr. Instrumentation Specialist with fabricating FITNIR’s online NIR analyzers and will gain industry knowledge. A minimum commitment of 8 hours per week at FITNIR’s Vancouver office is expected.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assist with production team for fabrication of analyzer systems: wiring, tube bending, mounting, and testing of equipment at production facility.
• Assist Sr. Instrumentation Specialist with remote monitoring of mill analyzer systems: downloading data, plotting of data, and interpreting data to provide useful information for mill engineers and to identify operational problems with analyzers.
• Assist FITNIR’s Applications Development team to improve the hardware layout and functionality of FITNIR’s product suite of process analyzers.

SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
• Currently enrolled in, or a recent graduate of, an Electrical and Instrumentation program at a technical institute
• Able to read electrical drawings and diagrams
• Ideally has pulp and paper industry knowledge
• Good programming skills is an asset
• Fluent in English
• Excellent communication and relationship building skills

• Willingness to continually learn and improve
• Safe working habits and processes are essential
