Mercer Celgar is North America’s newest and largest single-line sustainable softwood kraft pulp mill, located in Castlegar, B.C.  Mercer Celgar is part of Mercer International, which also owns and operates two world class softwood mills and a sawmill in Germany. All Mercer mills continue to invest in their core assets and investigate new revenue streams in the emerging bio-economy to further improve their long-term viability.

An opportunity exists immediately for a safety committed Industrial Painter to join our Maintenance group. 

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor the Industrial Painter’s responsibilities will include:

·         Ability to work safely and in a team environment.

·         Prepare and clean surfaces using methods such as scraping, sandblasting, and hydro-blasting.

·         Assemble and erect scaffolding and swing stages.

·         Commitment to achieving exceptional safety performance.

·         Coordinate quantity and type of material required for all related jobs.

 The successful applicant will have the following qualifications and abilities:

·         Interprovincial Red Seal Endorsement (RSE) in Painting.

·         Minimum of 5 years’ experience in industrial painting.

·         Knowledge of and experience with all industrial coatings and applications.
