Job Title: Summer Intern, May 2019-August 2019
Location: Tappahannock, Virginia

Wanted: Student majoring in Forestry or related field to work primarily as a field forester out of Tappahannock, Virginia.

Work includes prescribe burning, timber cruising, boundary line marking, timber harvest inspections, timber marking, data entry, timberland examination and management planning.

This work will give a student valuable experience in the forestry field. Must have personal transportation for travel to and from work sites.

Skills Desired:

I am looking for a responsible person who is a self starter, can work with minimal supervision, and doesn’t mind working alone.

Good writing skills are preferred.

Willing to work outdoors as well as indoors during the summer in hot temperatures.

Courses in dendrology, silvicultural, forest management, wildlife management, and hydrology are desirable.

GIS and ArcMap experience is a plus.

Hours, Pay and Accommodations: 40 hour work week (normally from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM).

Pay will be $10.00/hour with the potential for a performance based bonus at the end of the internship.

Housing is provided as part of compensation for internship.

Mileage reimbursement provided.
