JOB OPENING: FORESTER
Location: Statesboro, Georgia

RESPONSIBILITIES: Primary responsibilities will be field work consisting of forest inventories, timber and boundary marking; collecting GPS field data, prescribed burning, logging supervision, planting supervision in addition to other detailed organizational skills with files and paper work.

JOB REQUIREMENTS: We are seeking a highly motivated individual with the ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment. A minimum two year forestry degree is required. An additional 2 to 3 years’ experience in a similar forestry field is preferred. Computer skills and other digital skills will be necessary. Good written and verbal communication skills are required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Includes the ability to traverse distances over one mile on uneven terrain; work in outdoor forested areas for extended periods in a variety of environmental conditions; occasionally carry 5 to 10 pounds of equipment over longer distances for extended periods of time. Must be able to work independently during a work week and complete tasks in a timely manner. Must have an insurable driving record.

Compensation

SALARY: Commensurate with experience and education.
