RESPONSIBILITIES: Primary responsibilities will be completing forest inventories, timber marking, collecting GPS field data, logging supervision, timber-sale preparations, meeting with landowners, potential clients, and timber buyers. Other responsibilities include maintaining organized files, logging inspection reports, tract inspection reports, GIS map updates, and other associated client reports. Periodic out of town travel may be required for field work primarily in the southeast US.

REQUIREMENTS: We are seeking a highly motivated individual with the ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment. A minimum two year forestry degree is required. An additional 2 to 3 years’ experience in a similar forestry field is preferred. Computer skills in Microsoft Office Excel, Word, and GIS software will be necessary. Good written and verbal communication skills are required. Experience with handheld data recorders and ARC GIS is a plus.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Includes the ability to traverse distances over one mile on uneven terrain; work in outdoor forested areas for extended periods in a variety of environmental conditions; occasionally carry 5 to 10 pounds of equipment over longer distances for extended periods of time. Must be able to work independently during a work week and complete tasks in a timely manner. Must have an insurable driving record.

SALARY:  Commensurate with experience and education.
