Forest Nursery Production Manager (Management & Executives)

We are currently seeking a seasoned professional to oversee all aspects related to reforestation stock nursery production and scheduling as well as providing technical expertise in early stand establishment.

Reporting to the Chief Forester, specific responsibilities include:

• Working in close collaboration with the Operational Silviculture Manager as well as regional forestry staff to improve reforestation results.
• Overseeing our 24 million seedling capacity production nursery and tree improvement and improved seed production operations. These operations service company forest management of 2.4 million hectares as well as outside customers in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and the State of Maine.
• Leading development and commercialization of new products as well as market development of new products.
• Managing a team of highly skilled professionals.

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• University Degree in Forestry, Horticulture or Agriculture, preferably at the Masters or PhD level.
• Extensive experience in seedling production and nursery operations.
• 5 to 10 years of progressive leadership experience.
• Experience in early forest stand establishment, silviculture and tree improvement will be considered an asset.
• Working with a range of operational staff and outside customers, excellent communication and customer relation skills are a requirement.
