We are looking to hire a Full-time Financial/Administrative Assistant to join our team.
Qualifications
- Accounting diploma or equivalent combination of education, experience and training
- Demonstrated knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and the ability to follow procedures
- Experience using financial software
- Advanced level of proficiency working with Microsoft Office software
- Strong organizational & problem-solving skills, accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain a positive relationship with customers, vendors, coworkers and management
- Ability to work independently, quickly adapt to changing priorities and meet tight accounting cycle deadlines
- Previous experience working within an accounting firm or bookkeeping practice is an asset
- Previous experience and working knowledge of Sage accounting software is an asset
Key duties and responsibilities:
- Administer payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit card program, month-end reconciliations and related remittances
- Use financial software as well as online spreadsheets and data bases
- Enter and post financial transactions and complete reconciliations
- Receive and record cash, cheques and vouchers
- Assist with year-end preparations
- Develop and document workflows and procedures
- Administrative and clerical functions to support the management team
- File and data management
