We are looking to hire a Full-time Financial/Administrative Assistant to join our team.

Qualifications

  • Accounting diploma or equivalent combination of education, experience and training
  • Demonstrated knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and the ability to follow procedures
  • Experience using financial software
  • Advanced level of proficiency working with Microsoft Office software
  • Strong organizational & problem-solving skills, accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain a positive relationship with customers, vendors, coworkers and management
  • Ability to work independently, quickly adapt to changing priorities and meet tight accounting cycle deadlines
  • Previous experience working within an accounting firm or bookkeeping practice is an asset
  • Previous experience and working knowledge of Sage accounting software is an asset

Key duties and responsibilities:

  • Administer payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit card program, month-end reconciliations and related remittances
  • Use financial software as well as online spreadsheets and data bases
  • Enter and post financial transactions and complete reconciliations
  • Receive and record cash, cheques and vouchers
  • Assist with year-end preparations
  • Develop and document workflows and procedures
  • Administrative and clerical functions to support the management team
  • File and data management
