Frontline Operations Group Inc is a progressive consulting firm based in Vernon, BC working primary throughout the Okanagan and occasionally elsewhere in BC and the Territories. We are a group of
professionals specializing in all aspects of wildfire and emergency management: planning and implementing prescribed burns; ecosystem restoration and fuel management prescriptions; Community Wildfire Protections Plans; flood mitigation planning and response. Our goal is to analyse risk and then mitigate that risk, through the abatement of hazards, to communities, First Nation Reserves, developments and individual residents as well as restoring wildlife habitat.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, innovative and experienced individual (or individuals) to join our group to assist with community wildfire protection projects. We provide a flexible and dynamic work environment with active and energetic individuals that are passionate about wildfire and emergency related work!
Work would commence immediately or as soon as the successful applicant is available.

Primary Duties:

• Field recee to determine treatment units and boundaries
• Collect ecological site data required for analysis
• Assist with block layout of boundaries, reserves and roads
• Synthesis of field data and report/prescription development
• Potential for project management, grant writing and business development

Mandatory Qualifications:

• Safety conscious, able to work equally well independently or in a team
• Registered,and in good standing, as a RPF, RFT, RpBio or PAg or the equivalent technician level of those professions or be eligible for such registration with strong operational background
• A natural resource, biology or agrology degree or diploma
• Solid vegetation and soil classification skills (BEC classification field experience)
• Experience with block and road layout
• Working knowledge of basic Microsoft programs
• Physically fit and able to work in all terrain/weather conditions
• Posses a vehicle and a class five drivers license in good standing
Preferred Qualifications
• Operational fire related experience (fire fighting or prescribed burning)
• GIS experience
• Project management/grant writing experience
