Assistant Manager (Forestry, Logging & Mill Operations)

This is an entry level position for a new graduate interested in getting experience in habitat restoration practice. The candidate will assist management in all aspects of work including administrative tasks, planning, logistics, and execution of restoration tasks. 

The ideal candidate will have (or be working on) a degree in ecology, forestry, botany or horticulture. No specific habitat restoration experience is required. However, a good knowledge of native plants and natural habitats of the Southeast as well as a strong interest in natural habitat conservation are necessary. 

• The ideal candidate will have excellent computer skills including proficiency in Google docs, Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Earth.
• He / she must have good interpersonal skills, a positive attitude and a pro-active stance on tasks.
• The candidate must be able to multitask and shift priorities and objectives rapidly.
• The candidate must be physically fit -- able to work in harsh conditions, carry heavy loads, walk long distances, etc.
• The work is not suited to persons with allergic conditions or fear of wildlife.
• The work is not suited to persons who cannot work in remote locations. 
• The candidate must posses a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, insurance, computer and cellphone.
