2nd Class Power Engineer

Reporting to the Cogen Superintendent, the 2nd Class Maintenance Relief Shift Engineer is accountable for ensuring that site process systems and related equipment are functioning as efficiently as possible.  This includes troubleshooting and maintenance of steam generating equipment, process piping, pumps, compressors, fire systems and other various process equipment located throughout the Cogeneration Plant, Plywood Plant, Planermill and Sawmill.  When not functioning in a maintenance capacity, the Maintenance Relief Shift Engineer is required to relieve the Cogen Shift Engineer and assume the leadership duties over a crew of certified Power Engineer’s in the operation of a biomass fired power boiler, turbo generator and all plant auxiliary equipment. This individual must be consistent with company objectives and standards by ensuring that safety, environmental and production goals are met.

Qualifications:

  • 2nd Class Power Engineer Certificate
  • 5 years of operating and maintenance experience will be considered an asset
  • In depth knowledge and experience in troubleshooting is required
  • Strong organizational and communication skills is required
