Work Planner (Forestry, Logging & Mill Operations)

CN Utility Consulting, Inc. (CNUC) is currently seeking qualified, highly motivated individuals. CNUC is a highly experienced consulting and operations team with an unparalleled understanding of utility vegetation management (UVM) industry best management practices, and legal and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Tree and brush inventories
  • Hazard tree inspection and evaluation
  • Tree contractor work planning
  • Data management
  • Contact with property owners/public agencies regarding planned pruning and/or removals
  • Safeguard employees and public from hazards in and around the work area
  • Help enforce on-the-job safety practices
  • Carry and utilize materials, tools, and equipment at work site
  • Service truck and equipment, keep trucks and other assigned equipment in a neat and orderly fashion
  • Report the need for equipment and truck repairs to supervisor
  • Perform other related duties as required or assigned


Requirements:

  • Degree in forestry or related field and/or experience in utility line clearance
  • Species identification skills and invasive species knowledge, plus knowledge of tree growth rates
  • ISA Arborist Certification desirable (or ability to attain within one year)
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Excellent customer service skills a priority
  • Ability to travel and work in rugged terrain and inclement weather
  • Proficient in map navigation skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and data collection software (GIS experience a plus)

Compensation
