EACOM Timber Corporation is a major Eastern Canadian wood products company formed in 2008. Its head office is located in Montreal, Quebec, with regional offices located in Timmins, Ontario and Val d'Or, Quebec. In 2010, EACOM acquired Domtar’s Forest Products Division. As a result, its operations include the manufacturing, marketing and distribution of lumber and wood-based value-added products, and the management of forest resources. 

EACOM currently owns seven sawmills (5 in Ontario, 2 in Quebec), a remanufacturing facility (Quebec) and a partnership operation in an engineered I joist plant (Ontario) for a total of 800 employees. Many of these mills have a long, rich history having been part of their communities for over 100 years.

EACOM has a production capacity of approximately 900 million board feet of lumber and holds Crown logging rights of approximately 3.5 million cubic meters annually.

EACOM Timber Corporation, Timmins and Elk Lake Woodlands is looking to fill a full time position, reporting to the Woodlands Manager.   

Job Description:

  • Monitor forest operations for safety, environment and product quality standards for contract road building, harvest, and haul operations.
  • Manage contractor road construction, harvest, and haul resources to meet inventory targets for the EACOM Sawmill, and other external mill customers.
  • Provide Operational input into forest management plans to optimize short-mid-and long term harvest objectives.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of Annual Work Schedules on all regional EACOM License areas.
  • Manage the aggregate pit permits and MNRF compliance reporting for the operations.
  • Cooperatively work with EACOM Management Foresters, Operation Forester, and Information Technology staff as well as MNRF staff to find solutions to operational problems/issues.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor, Certificate or Diploma or equivalent experience in the field of Forestry with a minimum of 1 year in a Supervisor’s position; 
  • Be experienced in the use of Microsoft Office, GPS technology and electronic data collection tools; 
  • Required to work outdoors in a variety of weather and terrain conditions;
  • Valid Driver’s license.
