Their mandate is to plan, manage and evaluate all aspects of the BCTS within their geographical timber sales business area, spanning planning, operations and business functions for timber sales, forest stewardship and an overall land management role. This position is involved in high profile resource use negotiations with a variety of internal and external stakeholders and provides critical benchmark information for provincial timber pricing. Your knowledge of timber pricing and timber sales policy is essential in this leadership role, as is a sound understanding of the legislative requirements affecting forest management such as the Forest and Range Practices Act, Forest Practices Code and Forest Act.

As a key member of the management team, you make vital decisions and recommendations with serious economic, environmental or legal risks and ensure resource management practices are performed and evaluated in accordance with established standards. You are results oriented and focused on continuous improvement and have the ability to motivate and develop others. The Manager functions effectively in a fast paced atmosphere and has the strategic orientation this role requires to facilitate policy development through working groups and to promote an integrated approach to the management of the timber sales business area. If you are an experienced resource management specialist who thrives in a productive team focused environment and ready for the next step in your career, consider this challenging and rewarding opportunity.
