Interfor is currently recruiting for a Woodlands Manager for our Adams Lake Operations based in Chase, British Columbia. The position will be responsible for the management and performance of the Woodlands Operations and the fiber supply for the Adams Lake manufacturing facility, consuming 1.2 Mm3 of logs annually. The successful candidate will also provide strong leadership in safety and performance management for 10 staff members.

Position Details:

Major Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for safety of employees, contractors, consultants.
  • Ensure fiber supply meets sawmill requirements.
  • Responsible for tenure management, and strategic partnerships for increased log supply.
  • Manage log inventory levels to balance risk, working capital and an uninterrupted supply of fiber to the sawmill.
  • Set and communicate direction to staff, contractors and consultants.
  • Work with the Regional Management Team (RMT) to maximize profitability of the division.
  • Communicate with peers and share best practices among Canadian Operations.
  • Liaise with government, first nations and key stakeholders.
  • Monitor operations.

The ideal candidate will possess the preferred qualifications:

  • Degree or diploma in Forestry Management
  • Registration with (or eligibility for) the Association of British Columbia Forest Professionals
  • Previous management or leadership experience is considered an asset
  • Minimum 10 years of operational and forest planning experience
