West Fraser is currently seeking a high caliber candidate for a permanent Woodlands Controller position at our Corporate Operations head office in Quesnel, BC.
The primary responsibilities will be:
- Monitor and analyze the financial and operating activities of the West Fraser’s Canadian Woodlands operations with a view of maximizing return on assets
- Provide analytic and strategic support to Senior Management on all issues impacting woodland operations
- Ensure the consistent application of company guidelines and play a key role in systems maintenance and development with regards to woodlands.
- Provide supervision to direct reports
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A professional accounting designation or be close to completing a program
- Strong business acumen
- Well-established organizational skills
- Excellent communication skills
- A detailed and proactive approach to work
- A high level of motivation
- Strong computer systems skill set
- Forest industry experience is preferred but not required
- Some travel is required
