ABOUT ECONOTECH:
We look for bright and focussed people to bring new inquisitiveness to our team while learning from senior technologists. We are a diverse group of 30+ technical staff with experience in a wide range of pulp & paper applications – from chemical testing to physical testing and process trials. We work on samples ranging from raw fibre sources like wood chips, to pulps or finished papers, and all of the process chemicals and additives in between.

ABOUT THE POSITION:

Your professional development with us will include knowledge of equipment and applications, specialized technical knowledge, and opportunities to contribute ideas to the growth and development of the department. In addition, work in this department allows for flexibility of your individual work hours.

Within the Microscopy department, all staff share day-to-day tasks like sample preparation or disposal, communicating with customers, and coordinating all work to ensure projects will meet deadlines. You work independently on your assigned sample analysis or projects, compiling results, preparing concise and descriptive reports.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
•  Completion of post-secondary science education, preferably forestry or plant science.
•  Experience with microscopes and optical microscopy.  Specific training on fibre identification will be provided but previous experience with microscopic identifications and/or morphological categorizations would be a definite asset.
