The New Forests Company has the following opportunity in East Africa:
Timber Supply Manager (Rwanda)
The TSM will be responsible to plan, lead and control all timber supply activities from stump to mill on own and 3rd party plantations to deliver timber according to the business plan.
We are searching for an individual with above average project management abilities. Someone who can successfully manage the harvesting and logistics functions as a business unit within extreme and difficult terrain. The TSM must have the ability to thrive under extreme work conditions, hours and weather. To be successful the individual must have a high stress tolerance and the ability to work under pressure. This role would suit an individual with tenacity, a capacity for work and who prefers a hands-on and innovative approach.
The successful candidate should have at least 5 to 7 years’ experience in timber supply management and be in possession of a recognised diploma or degree in forestry. The role would also require strong numeric and financial skills to ensure the TSM function is managed as an independent business.
