Timber Investment Management Internship (Forestry, Logging & Mill Operations)

BTG Pactual is recruiting for a Summer Intern in our Timber Research and Analysis Group, located in Athens, Georgia.

The internship program lasts from June 1, 2015 through August 7, 2015.

The successful candidate will have a strong interest in research, who is seeking an opportunity to learn from an experienced team of investment professionals.

The major focus of this position is research and analysis.

- Timber and Land Prices: Assist analyzing timber and land prices form our extensive database collection

- Timber Stands and Properties: Assist with planning for properties managed by BTG Pactual Timberland Investment Group

- Property Acquisitions: Assist in analyzing prospective timberland investments

- Research Project: The Summer Intern will be assigned a research project on a subject relevant to BTG Pactual's current investment priorities.

Although the intern will work primarily with the Research and Analysis Group, some opportunities will exist for periodic field visits with BTG Pactual regional forestry staff as well as to participate in enrichment workshops led by other areas of the BTG Pactual group.

- Major in forestry or a closely related discipline; graduate level students preferred

- Coursework in economics, finance, biometrics, statistics and management science

- Strong written and verbal communications skills are essential

- Prior employment with a timberland investment management company, the forest products industry, or forestry consulting would be a plus.

- Well-developed interpersonal skills and capable of working with a high degree of independence.
