TECHNICAL PULP SALES MANAGER

Do you have a passion and dedication to your work?  Are you ready to take ownership and grow an already dynamic global business?  The Technical Sales Manager is a key member of the Pulp Marketing Group.  West Fraser markets pulp throughout the world and our customers 
require support with various issues including product development, optimizing product performance, and ongoing technical advice.  Our four pulp mills in BC and AB are in need of an individual with sound technical and communication skills to continue driving success.

Responsibilities:

• Provide technical support to key customers in different regional markets; assisting our customers with technical questions, concerns, opportunities to improve
• Travel to client sites to assist with technical issues, evaluate opportunities for process improvement and identify opportunities for business development
• Collaborate with mill personnel, suppliers and other stakeholders to optimize mill processes, improve product quality and reduce production costs
• Maintain and build up the company’s technical database of industry advancements, competitor benchmarking, industry practices and regulatory requirements
• Work with the Pulp Marketing Group to improve overall productivity by optimizing and streamlining business systems
• Clearly and accurately document and report on all results as required

Qualifications:

• Technical Diploma, Engineering Degree or Equivalent Industrial Experience.
• Proven ability to take on multiple process related projects with a demonstrated entrepreneurial mind set
• Strong computer skills (statistical process control, database management)
• Proven self-starter with good communication and organizational skills
• Ability to collaborate/share and mentor with others
• Previous Pulp and Papermaking experience and an understanding of NBSK and BCTMP process knowledge would be an asset
• Understanding international regulations/certificates pertaining forestry and sustainability
• The successful candidate must possess excellent organizational, analytical, reasoning and leaderships skills as well as being safety oriented

Additional Requirements:

• Overseas travel is a required part of the position (primarily Asia and potentially other countries)
• Location – Quesnel, BC

Quesnel is located in the central interior of BC and has a relatively dry climate with warm summers. Quesnel services a population of around 30,000 people and is ideally suited for outdoor adventurers with many lakes and rivers to swim in as well as world renowned fishing lakes and rivers plus many other activities such as golfing, hiking, camping, and biking.
