Stewardship Officer
Salary $58,921.64 - $73,592.70 annually

An excellent opportunity to contribute to sustainable forest resource management awaits you.

The Stewardship mandate is to promote forest management strategies and practices that ensure the sustainable use of British Columbia’s forest and protection of the key environmental values under the Forest and Range Practices Act (FRPA). This position will also play a key role in the delivery of the District Revenue program, whose mandate is to ensure accurate revenue and pricing information is provided to the Crown.

The Integrated District Stewardship and Revenue teams provide expert advice and decision support related to sustainable timber supply and professional advice and opinions related to all operational and strategic plans that apply to the working forest.

With a solid working knowledge of a broad range of stewardship, revenue and resource values, you manage the district Stewardship and Revenue programs and their many areas of application. As the Stewardship Officer with Revenue responsibilities, you provide professional advice related to a broad and complex range of forest resource stewardship issues, values, policy, standards and management practices. Based in the Village of Queen Charlotte, you are required to work in remote field locations as well as in the office, with a highly effective team in a dynamic and challenging environment. You are a self-starter, initiating action rather than waiting to be instructed, creative and willing to take calculated risks. An effective communicator, you work well with stakeholders, both external and internal. You are skilled at managing performance, and you possess strong supervisory skills.

If you are an innovative and analytical thinker, organized and results-focused, we encourage your application.
