POSITION

W. M. Beaty & Associates, Inc. is seeking applicants to become a full time Staff Forester on the Northern District in Shasta, Lassen, Modoc, and Siskiyou Counties.  Successful applicants will work jointly with the District and Staff Foresters on all aspects of field operations, with a focus on timber sale and Timber Harvesting Plan preparation.

Location

W. M. Beaty & Associates, Inc., is one of Northern California's longest standing forest management and consulting firms based in Redding, California, and manage 290,000 acres of private forestland across a wide landscape in Northern California.  Successful applicants will be required to reside in the Redding or Fall River Mills area. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

The principal duties of this position are all field aspects, planning, and preparation of Timber Harvest Plans, timber sale contract administration, and assistance with numerous other timberland related management activities.

QUALIFICATIONS

Staff Forester candidates must have a Bachelor of Science degree in forestry or related field by the 2015 field season,  a minimum of one year of experience in a forestry field position including Timber Harvest Plan preparation, submittal, and administration, and aspiring to be or currently possess a California Registered Professional Forester License.  Ability to function well during all seasons in mountainous forested environments using forestry field tools is required as are computer skills and experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access, and geographic information systems.  A high degree of self-motivation, well developed communication skills, desire to work as a team member, and the ability to develop and maintain respectable professional relationships within a complex regulatory environment is essential.
