Silviculture Worker / 1st Aid Attendant (Silviculture & Reforestation)

Greentree is looking for one competent individual to join our team of forestry workers. The position will be seasonal and will begin May 6^th weather permitting. The season will run to mid November.

Successful applicant must be an experienced forestry worker (minimum five years planting, five years brushing and some experience burning), and will work with a small team in various areas of the West Kootenays. The successful applicant must be able to work in a fast paced and physically demanding environment in an extremely safe, and efficient manner.

Applicants will be the primary first aid attendant for the crew, so experience in a remote forestry setting is a must and the first aid qualifications are necessary for employment.

Duties will include tree planting, brushing, hazard assessment, foremaning, incident reporting, chain sawing and possibly driving employees to and from worksite in company truck (manual transmission). 

Desired Qualifications;

Occupational First Aid Level 3

Class 4 drivers Licence*

Level 1 Safety Awareness (Chainsaw)

Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) 

Transportation of Dangerous Goods Certificate

S-100 fire suppression
