Interfor is currently recruiting for a Silviculture Forester (12 Month Contract) for our office in Campbell River, British Columbia. This person will be responsible for the delivery of the silviculture program in the assigned operating areas which includes reforestation, stand tending, surveys and silviculture contractor supervision. The successful individual will also play a role in implementing the Environmental Management System and ensure that all work and practices are conducted to a high standard of environmental responsibility and integrity.

Position Details:

Major Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate leadership in personal safety and help promote a safety culture.
  • Support the development team with Site Plan development for blocks and roads.
  • Silviculture prescriptions for post-harvest activities.
  • Provide support for Forest Stewardship Plan preparation and amendment.
  • Responsible for the delivery of the area specific silviculture program which includes, budgeting, reforestation, stand tending, surveys and silviculture contractor supervision.

Required Experience
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in forestry
  • Preference will be given to those registered with the Association of BC Forest Professionals as a Registered Professional Forester (RPF)
  • Minimum 3 years of related experience in silviculture
  • Good physical condition
