Northwest Wood Treaters, a lumber pressure treating plant, is part of the Treating Division of CanWel Building Materials Group Ltd.

SUMMARY

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the shipper/receiver is responsible for efficiently and accurately assembling products for customer orders, planning load layouts for customer trucks, receiving inventory from suppliers and ensuring accurate counts.

EXPECTED CONTRIBUTIONS

·         Processes and tallies inbound products.

·         Ensures accuracy of all tallies and all loads.

·         Creates load diagrams for trucks and rail in order to maximize freight utilization and balance load weights.

·         Coordinates load schedule with customers and trucking companies.

·         Conducts spot inventory counts.

·         Calculates freight rates for shipments.

·         Liaises with customers including rail and trucking companies.

·         Maintains a clean and organized yard.

·         Adheres to customer service commitments.

·         Adheres to all work safety rules and regulations.

 Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

·         Good knowledge of shipping/receiving practices

·         Basic computer skills with a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel

·         Attention to detail

·         Must have own steel-toed boots.

·         Basic math skills

·         Minimum one year experience in Shipping/Receiving

EMPLOYMENT STATUS:  Permanent, Full-Time

EDUCATION:  High school graduation

HOURS OF WORK

  • Typically Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm
  • Must be flexible during peak periods of operation and holiday/illness coverage.

Work Location:  10553 Willow Cale Forest Road, Prince George, BC  V2N 4T7

Must have own reliable transportation as there is no public transportation to the plant.
