Service Technician - Forestry Tools - Alberta / BC (Maintenance & Trades)

The company: Forestry division of a globally-leading supplier of plant, process and forestry equipment with an incredible track record for growth and success

The role:  To be the client-facing technical resource in Northern Alberta and Northern BC.  Working with sawmills and pulp mills across the territory, you'll help them with new product installs (generally overseeing new installs done by millwrights on site); perform planned maintenance visits; watch for wear and replacement needs and train operators on new tools.

This is a road warrior role with a broad territory of forestry operations.  You'll be in charge of your own schedule, which can at times include many days on the road (but these can be balanced out by days off).  

To be successful, you'll need to have:

·         Experience working in a sawmill or pulp mill (for example as an operator or maintenance)

·         The ability to travel to remote sites most of the time

·         Strong understanding of how machines like chip lines, canter lines and debarkers

·         Hands-on experience working with and maintaining equipment

Compensation

This role pays a combination of base pay and performance-based pay, in addition to a company, truck, computer, PPE, etc. As this is a road job, home base for you could be virtually anywhere in the territory: Edmonton, Hinton, Grande Prairie, Prince George, or even remote locations close to forestry operations.
