The Ministry of Forests Lands and Natural Resource Operations is the main agency responsible for establishing the conditions for access to and use of the Province’s forests, mineral, water and land resources. Approximately 94 per cent of British Columbia’s lands are publicly owned and managed by the Provincial government on behalf of the public.

The Senior Natural Resource Specialist manages the regional natural resource client services program as the primary support to the Manager, FrontCounter BC, and provides supervision, advanced expertise in lands and water decisions or decision support, project management, and team leadership within the FrontCounter BC Office.
Your ability to prioritize, analytically problem solve, listen to and communicate with stakeholders enables you to evaluate applications and proposed projects related to water, crown land, environment, park use, forestry, fish and wildlife to ensure the best use and stewardship of natural resources. This key role requires a demonstrated knowledge of multidisciplinary issues involved in natural resource management (incl. water) as well as excellent conflict resolution skills.
