Senior Forester (Forestry, Logging & Mill Operations)

A unique opportunity has become available for an experienced forester to take on a senior role on a fly-in, fly-out basis.  The successful candidate will work closely with the Operations Manager to ensure that planning, harvesting and production levels are in line with the business objectives.

Working for one of Canada’s most established private forestry businesses, this role offers the flexibility of a convenient work schedule to one of British Columbia’s most stunning coastal locations. The Senior Forester will have a broad range of responsibilities within the business, including supervising the field based operations and implementing the forestry plans on the ground. Working closely with the VP of Forestry the successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop engineering plans and assist in the development of new cut blocks. The Senior Forester will also take on a leadership role and assist, mentor and develop junior engineers and technicians as required.

To be suitable for this role you will hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Forestry or equivalent and have at least eight years of experience, preferably in a coastal forestry environment. You will be ambitious, driven and prepared to manage challenges as they arise in operations and planning. You must be comfortable working a rotational schedule, where you will be required to travel to site for two weeks at a time. To be suitable for this role, candidates must be eligible to work in Canada and be familiar with British Columbian legislation.

Compensation

$80,000 - $90,000 including all travel to site and all expenses when at site.
