Reporting to the Supply Manager, the Scaling Coordinator is responsible for managing the scaling activities for all FMG operations. The Scaling Coordinator is also responsible for the preparation and statistical analysis of the annual stratification and sample plans.

Major Duties:

  • Hiring, training, supervising, mentoring, and developing qualified personnel.
  • Administration of contracts for scaling services.
  • Participate in the development and annual budgets and monthly cost projections.
  • Ensure activities are conducted in compliance with all applicable Occupational Health and Safety Requirements, Forestry Legislation and Canfor’s Environmental Policy.
  • Demonstrate innovation by implementing efficiencies and cost savings through performance management and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Development of the annual stratification and sample plans
  • Auditing of sample scales and log quality assessments.
  • Developing and delivering utilization and waste residue plan.
Required Skills

The successful candidate will bring the following experience and expertise:

  • Minimum of 5 years of related forestry experience.
  • A valid BC Scaling License.
  • University degree or Technical Diploma and registered or eligible for registration as an RPF or RFT with the association of BC Forest Professionals.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and project management skills, with an ability to work in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of applicable B.C. legislation and scaling policies.
  • Experience in the assessment and delivery of the BC Waste and Residue program.
  • Proficient in the use of computer and related software applications.
  • Valid class 5 driver’s license.
