Our client, a leading forestry company is currently looking for a Sawmill Supervisor for one of their sawmills in BC.
Responsibilities
Maintain the highest standards with respect to safety
Manage and identify opportunities to improve productivity, reduce cost, and maximize the quality
Engage production and maintenance workers to achieve targets
Ensure quality standards are met throughout the manufacturing process
Foster a culture of open and respectful communications
Engage and support team members to achieve excellence in all areas of the business
Required Skills
Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills
Proven leadership abilities and the ability to work effectively in a team environment
Desire to lead and support a talented team in a fast paced environment
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Excellent computer skills, especially Outlook and Excel
Required Experience
Post secondary education - minimum Grade 12 education
Sawmill supervisory or similar experience
Lumber grading ticket and familiarization with Optimization will be an asset
