Born over 50 years ago, Maibec, an international company oriented towards the development of four business sectors which are cedar shingles, wood sidings, lumber and, cedar mulch currently employs over 725 people in North America. We are looking to fill a position of Sawmill Process Engineer in Northern Maine (100 000 MBF SPF).

The process engineer manages the various production activities of the sawmill through supervisors and foremen to achieve planned production targets and to ensure the effective use of available resources

The process engineer duties include:

·         Process control

·         Quality control

·         Wood usage optimization

·         Project management

·         Process improvement

·         Process optimization

·         Key performance indicators production

 

The ideal candidate will have

·         Very good knowledge of wood transformation processes

·         Good knowledge of key equipment manufacturers

·         Ideally, experience in a softwood environment

·         Wood processing, Industrial, or Mechanical university degree

 

The sawmill process engineer will have to relocate in the area of Presque Isle, Fort Kent or Masardis.
