Profile 

Our client is a specialty lumber supplier and trader focused on streamlined products sourced from around the globe. They have dedicated production facilities and pride themselves on reliability, quality, consistency, exceptional customer service, competitive pricing and attention to detail. 

They are looking for a Sales Representative to join their team and play an integral role in sourcing new customers for their dedicated supply of products. This individual will build relationships with both new and existing customers and provide outstanding account management services on behalf of the organization.

We are looking for top-notch individuals with at least two years of experience in the lumber industry.

Individuals must have proven sales accomplishments, a consultative sales approach, exceptional customer service skills, and a drive to succeed and work as part of a team.

Some travel across Canada, the US and Europe will be required. 

Responsibilities 

  • Source, prospect and identify customers and market the company’s products 
  • Manage relationships with buyers and be accountable for the development of the organization’s customer base 
  • Cultivate relationships that ensure long-term customer retention and future sales opportunities 
  • Coordinate sales activities with team members and suppliers, including managing some logistics 
  • Provide technical information, solutions and customer support on products 
  • Provide market information and intelligence from product sourcing to delivery 
  • Create and maintain long lasting customer relationships through high-quality customer service 

Qualifications 

  • A diploma or degree related to forestry, or equivalent experience 
  • 2 + years of experience in the lumber industry 
  • Strong sales skills and proven sales accomplishments 
  • A sales approach that is centered around relationship building, integrity and trust 
  • Strong negotiation, facilitation and influencing skills 
  • Proven ability to build business relationships and develop business solutions 
  • Outstanding communication skills, both verbally and in writing 
  • Strong time management, follow-up and organizational skills 
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Outlook and the internet 
  • Positive and upbeat attitude and enjoys being part of a team
