A rewarding leadership opportunity for an operational management professional who wants to contribute to effective natural resource management

As the Resource Manager with the Thompson Rivers District, you are a member of a professional team responsible for natural resource management or infrastructure development (i.e., tenures, stewardship, range, engineering, water, lands, corporate services, First Nations and land information management). You set operational objectives, distribute resources, manage staff and oversee work activities. Applying your leadership expertise, you participate in a variety of initiatives to resolve difficult operational issues, address persistent problems or deficiencies in operational processes and implement changes.

You are an outstanding leader and team builder who can elicit excellence from their team while maintaining collaborative stakeholder/agency partnerships. You possess comprehensive understanding of natural resource management policy and issues, and have advanced project management expertise. This is a highly dynamic and stressful environment that is fast-paced with a high public profile. Your excellence in prioritization, project management and crisis management is second to none and you have a high degree of business acumen. You are highly adaptable in an undefined environment and are open to change.

This role has considerable independence and autonomy within a collaborative environment, leading a diverse, high performing team comprised of technical, administrative and professional staff. If you are service and team oriented, eager to work in a variety of challenging roles, a self-starter interested in lifelong learning, developing others and continuous improvement, and willing to play a key role in shaping natural resources for future British Columbians, then this is the position for you.

This position will require regular travel to Clearwater and periodic travel within the Thompson Okanagan Region.
