Scotsburn Lumber Ltd. operates a modern Stud Sawmill at Scotsburn in northern Nova Scotia. We are assembling a list of potential candidates for the following position:
Production Supervisor
We are looking for individuals who have previously supervised a Sawmill and/or Planermill operation but will consider those individuals who have supervised in a production environment.
The successful candidates will be employed in a very fast paced environment, motivating both experienced and relatively new employees to work safely while achieving production goals. This position is essential in the long term growth of this company and you will be relied on to have your group achieve both safety and production objectives. This environment contains many automated equipment pieces ranging from lumber scanners, optimization controls, and modern sawing automation. This site will work 2 shifts per day on a Monday to Friday operation, some weekend work may be necessary. Working as a team player, having the ability to multi-task and being an innovative thinker are all essential assets.
Employees in this classification work a 10.5 hour shift schedule. S/he must demonstrate a positive work ethic and have the ability to work and communicate successfully in a team environment, with minimal supervision. Given the nature of this position, being adaptable to various work assignments and conditions is essential. We are looking for a responsible individual, with a commitment to workplace safety and an ability to make decisions and motivate a group to achieve objectives.
