The Wood and Fiber Supply (W&FS) organization is key to ensuring that GP's 80+ mills maintain a constant flow of logs, wood fiber and chips. W&FS sources its wood from private lands owned by industrial, institutional or individual landowners. The Wood and Fiber Supply team is seeking a Procurement Forester to report into our Englehart, Ontario Oriented Stand Board (OSB) facility.
As a Wood and Fiber team member you will:
Build strong business relationships with suppliers, contractors, mills and government agencies
Implement strategic sourcing and pricing options pertaining to the procurement of wood and fiber for the Englehart, Ontario Orientated Stand Board (OSB) facility.
Evaluate least cost fiber sourcing and pricing opportunities using analytical and innovative problem solving skills while assisting in the development and implementation of strategic sourcing and pricing options pertaining to the procurement of fiber for the Englehart, Ontario OSB facility.
Work in conjunction with Wood &Fiber Supply team to monitor and manage all levels of raw material costs to include:
- Administrative, Capital employed, Transportation, Wood Cost, Wood Yield impacts
- Ensure compliance with all business, health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
- Use a creative problem solving approach. Challenge the status quo, identify and act upon opportunities for positive change.
Basic Qualifications
- Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Forestry or other related discipline.
- Related work experience would be an asset.
- Bilingualism (French/English) asset but not required.
